Oxford Brookes University
The CCI programme at Oxford Brookes University comprises work drawn from a number of departments, including Fine Art, Social Sculpture Research Unit, Music and the School of Architecture. Artists involved include staff, researchers, international artists, students and alumni: the whole programme has an emphasis on community participation, interaction with the public and work integrated with local schools. This has been an opportunity to break down interdisciplinary boundaries within the University, to engage with the wider public and to provide mentoring for both current and alumni students. It has proved to be an opportunity for a number of disciplines to engage with common concerns and to look to external involvement beyond the bounds of the University.
