Seven sisters and the Greek runner

Atalanta – The Seven Sisters Group 
When: 24- 25 July 2010  
Where: Ashmolean Museum, Oxford as part of Open Weekend 
A CCI commission based on the Greek myth of the runner Atalanta and the origins of the Olympic games. Seven sisters group’s Atalanta will combine a downloadable podcast walk with elements of live performance, over the Open Weekend.  
Atalanta – Workshop
When: 26th June 2010, 10.30am – 5pm
Where: De La Warr Pavillion, Bexhill on Sea
As part of the CCI commission seven sisters group is offering a one day professional development workshop for local artists and sports people. The workshop is for up to 14 participants with an interest in site-specific work. It is open to participants from dance, theatre, design, architecture, sound, light, or art backgrounds and aims to be a professional lab opportunity for students, young graduates and professional artists of all ages. Participants will be encouraged to create site-specific performance in various locations within the De La Warr Pavilion in response to spatial, social and cultural issues.

Atalanta follows the Greek myth of the runner. The Seven Sisters group gives a live performance in Oxford, as part of the Open Weekend (24-25 July) and holds workshops in Brighton and Bexhill-on-Sea.
